The Masters 2026 – Augusta Done Right I’ve just come back from the 2026 Masters at Augusta National Golf Club, and I can say without hesitation—it’s everything you imagine, and then some. Huge credit to Kieran McMahon from Golf to the Max. The trip was dialled in from start to finish. Seamless, well-paced, and full of those little touches that turn a good trip into a great one. Walking through the gates for the first time is surreal. The place doesn’t feel real—more like you’ve stepped into some perfectly curated alternate world. The fairways, the greens, the colour… it’s almost too good. Then you notice the details: no phones, manual scoreboards, everything with that “old school cool” feel that somehow makes the experience even sharper. One thing that really stands out—and sets Augusta apart—is the patrons themselves. Impeccably behaved, respectfully engaged, and dressed like they belong there. Collared shirts, tidy presentation, no nonsense. It adds to the whole atmosphere—classy, understated, and completely in sync with the venue. And then there are the volunteers. Everywhere you turn—polite, switched on, and running like a well-oiled machine. What many don’t realise is a number of them get the chance to play Augusta as part of their involvement. You can see the pride in how they operate—it’s not just a job, it’s a privilege, and it shows in every interaction. We kicked off with the Masters Par 3 Contest and practice round on Wednesday—arguably one of the best days of the week. Relaxed vibe, players engaging with the crowd, and plenty of chances to get up close. From there into tournament days Thursday and Friday, and that’s where it really hits home how good these guys are. Highlights? Plenty. Watching Jordan Spieth chip in on 13 at Amen Corner—one of those moments you’ll remember for a long time Crossing paths with Scottie Scheffler’s dad—just casually soaking it all in like the rest of us Meeting John Daly at a bar—exactly as advertised Bumping into Rafael Nadal and his entourage on the 10th—one of those “only at Augusta” moments Sitting within 25m of Rory McIlroy as he closed it out with the winning putt on 18—pure theatre, and something I’ll never forget The crowd interaction—fist pumps, high fives… far more personal than you’d expect at an event of this scale And the course… TV doesn’t prepare you for it. The elevation changes are real. You’re constantly walking up and down—by the end of the day you’ve got a new level of respect for what the players deal with. Then there’s the Masters experience itself: Up at 4am to lock in prime viewing spots—worth every second Merchandise shop… next level. Controlled chaos in the best possible way Concessions—unbelievable quality and pricing (almost feels like a throwback) Facilities run with military precision. The famous call still ringing in my ears: “Stalls to the walls… number 1 keep moving… number 2 head to Johnny…” Outside Augusta, the trip just kept delivering. Playing at Wakefield Country Club and Champions Retreat Golf Club—both outstanding, and run like clockwork from arrival to departure. Easily some of the best golfing experiences I’ve had. Accommodation and food? Spot on. No stress, no chasing bookings—just turn up and enjoy. End of the day, this wasn’t just a trip to the Masters—it was a full experience, properly curated. Kieran had everything covered, which meant we could just get stuck in and enjoy every moment. If you’re even thinking about doing Augusta… do it. And do it with someone who knows how to run it properly. Dave Sharp, New Zealand

Simply Awsome. Kieran hosted our tour with the ease of a Masters veteran. So well organized with such care and great choices of every facet from pick up at Atlanta Airport to delivery back there on our last day in Georgia. Accommodation was first class. Played Champions Retreat and West Lake, dined at fabulous restaurants and had a great time at his favourite watering holes, obviously well researched. The rest day tour of Augusta city was a welcome break from an action packed week. Would I do it again, in a heartbeat! Wouldn’t be right if I didn’t make a special mention of Kieran’s son Pat, what a legend, a scratch golfer and musician extraordinaire who doubled as our chauffeur par excellence. Thank you both from offering such a wonderful experience, one for the bucket list.
